Account & Loaned Executive Programs

What are Account Executives and Loaned Executives?

Account Executives and Loaned Executives act as account managers during the annual community-wide United Way campaign. They work directly with the professional United Way staff and workplace Campaign Coordinators to plan and manage the fundraising drives within assigned organizations.

What is the difference between Account Executives and Loaned Executives?

Account Executives are hired through Capital Area United Way as temporary employees. Their stay at United Way is usually a 3-4 month stay and this occurs during peak Campaign months (July – November). Loaned Executives work for United Way the same amount of time but these individuals are loaned from their employer to work at Capital Area United Way. They continue to get paid through their employer, not through United Way. In the long run, this program helps put dollars towards member agencies rather than using the dollars to pay for more salary expenses within United Way.

Why should I support the Account Executive and Loaned Executive Programs?

The small permanent United Way staff cannot successfully manage thousands of workplace campaigns during the fall without Account Executives and Loaned Executives. United Way’s annual campaign to fund the vital health and human service charities in our community cannot succeed without your support of these programs. We can design a program that works for you and your loaned employee. Please join the leading organizations that support United Way through the Loaned Executive program.

How can I provide a Loaned Executive?

Loaned Executives come from many different organizations and many different backgrounds. Any employee from within your organization can participate in the program. Typical loaned employee backgrounds are public / community relations, business development / sales, marketing, training, and human resource professionals.
