Day of Caring

Day of Caring an annual community service day coordinated by Capital Area United Way where companies volunteer to work projects for various agencies in our 10-parish area. These projects range from reading to agency youth, to painting, to landscaping and carpentry. The number of volunteers per project can range from 1 to 50, depending on the project.
These projects are desperately needed to help agencies improve the quality of services that they provide to those in need. Instead of using the agency’s funds to make the improvements, companies sponsor the projects at no cost to the agency. In turn, the agency is able to focus the saved funds on the services they provide to our community each day.
Company employees that participate in Day of Caring will leave the project feeling energized, inspired and motivated. Your employee will gain a boost in morale, the experience of positive teamwork, and development of managerial skills among those involved in planning projects. Depending on availability, your company will have the opportunity to be recognized by local media, print and broadcasting groups.
